Fitbit May Be Releasing a Smartwatch

If you have been following Fitbit stocks recently, you might know that Apple has surpassed Fitbit in the wearable tech battle.

As I combed the Internet, I found a recent article by Yahoo! finance concerning leaked photos of a Fitbit smart watch, and it’s potential release date.

I immediately questioned if the new Fitbit smart watch, is a response by Fitbit, to regain some ground stolen away by the success of the Apple Watch and the Nike alliance, with tracking features that helped to surpass Fitbit in the fitness tracking arena.

So far there have been no specific release dates but a few production issues have delayed the Fitbit watch release. Expect to see it later in the fall.

The Fitbit smart watch has been dubbed “Higgs” by internal groups. Project Higgs flashes a color screen display comparable to the Apple Watch. For the tech-savvy, this means over 1,000 nits of brightness. The watch will also holster a built-in GPS chip, heart rate monitor, and stay charged with around four days of battery life, while also sporting built-in compatible Pandora music storage.

It seems Fitbit is placing the weight of the next generation Fitbit success, solely on the shoulders of the Fitbit smart watch, Project Higgs.

Thus far, I have not received any information from fitjewels CEO and lead designer Anne Labs,  related to any potential designs for the Fitbit smart watch, Project Higgs.
